Kenly Simmons
This is Coach Simmons' second year at East Wake Academy. She comes to us from the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in May of 2013 with her Teaching Certification in Health & PE.
Coach Simmons has a wide range of teaching experience, having taught at every level and even abroad. During her last semester at UNCW, she was fortunate enough to travel to Belize, Central America and teach there for 6 weeks. While teaching without a facility and practically no equipment was quite difficult, PE on the beach was a ton of fun.
Since her birth in Greenville, NC, Coach Simmons has been an athlete and has enjoyed playing many different sports. Some of her favorite sports include softball, volleyball, basketball, and ultimate frisbee. Coach Simmons is a big supporter of EWA Athletics, as coach of the middle school girls' softball and varsity volleyball teams.
